Redwood Creek - Sold : 16+h 7yr Thoroughbred Gelding. Showing Training level with scores in upper 60s to mid 70s. Schooling First, once back in shape should be competitive at First this summer. Shoulder-in, haunches-in, leg yield, walk half pass, schooling trot half pass, good transitions, walk to canter, moves off leg and seat very well. Working on trot lengthenings just a bit out of shape from winter right now. Just completed a dressage clinic with Sarah Martin and she said his education is right on course and has been correct. Sweet natured and kind, but sensitive and responsive so intermediate riders and up. Has never bucked/kicked or done anything malicious in the 2 yrs I've had him. He is always a crowd favorite. Will be starting over fences, have been concentrating more on flatwork, but he should be good in light lower-level jumping, but dressage is his focus. Does have a natural lead change for hunters but I haven't exploited it because of our dressage goals. Good on trails, just haven't been out in a while due to weather, good by himself or with other horses. Not scared by cars/dogs, does take a good hard look at cows but never spooked. Will cross bridges/water, under bridges, has been camping and trail riding at Indian Caves. Trailers very well, hops right on. Is a little nervous at new places (like shows) but settles in quickly. Good with kids, very curious about dogs, loves attention and treats. Very quiet and sweet around small children. Best when kept outside but does stall well, not a hard keeper, will stock up in the hinds if he's kept inside more than 24-48hrs straight. He's good with other horses, playful but not mean. Looking for the best home possible, local preferred. He would be perfect for the amateur dressage rider who wants to trail ride, do a little hunters, and have a beautiful, sweet horse in their life.
